We’ve been in a DIY spirit lately and would love to sew this swimsuit cover-up designed by past Project Runway designer Diana Eng! Click the image above to see the step by step instructions to make your own. We’re going to dig out all of our oversized band shirts to see what we can come up with. Check out more of Diana’s great creations (some shown below) at her blog Fashion Nerd!

Melissa also runs Sqrl & Bee Studio, an Etsy store that sells cute, handmade felted characters.

We loved this instructable by cucumbersome on how to make a simple & cheap recycled t-shirt necklace. Click the image below to learn how! We’re getting out our scissors…

Laura Dart

The CS crew has been busy preparing for some big changes so we have gotten a bit behind in our blogging. To make up for it we would like to introduce you to one of our favorite photographers- and our artist of the week- Laura Dart. An Illinois native in her twenties, Laura has already assembled an impressive porfolio of beautiful and whimsical images. We love her use of muted colors, simple surroundings, and vintage props. Her photos are extraordinary and we expect great things in her future. Here are a small selection of her photos, but we’d recommend visiting her website at dartphotographie.net!

For more information about her work she can be reached via email.

Boho

We feel lucky to have stumbled across this magazine in the first few months of publication! Started by stylist Gina La Morte, Boho is the first fashion magazine to use 100% recycled paper, inks, and packaging, while also being 100% readable, relevant, and beautifully put together. Boho spans the entire spectrum of green fashion, with interesting information on clothing, homegoods, and beauty products. Their articles highlight people and companies that are doing their part to create sustainable products. We’re only bummed we missed the first issue! Click here to be connected to the Boho website, and be sure to look for them on your local bookstore shelves!
